RX7 Revolution 2nd Gen Tech Events Announced

This April 26th, 2nd Gen owners will have the opportunity to attend mini-tech sessions at the RX7 Revolution event. Three of these sessions will be handled by Aaron Cake from London, Ontario.

• TPS adjustment (the correct way)
• Driveshaft replacement
• Troubleshooting idle problems

All three sessions will be concluded with a brief question and answer session with Aaron.

Aaron Cake has been working on rotary vehicles since 1999. He currently owns a 1986 Mazda RX7 with an interesting twist. In December of 2001, Aaron began his longest and most ambitious project: turbocharging the N/A. The normal way to turbocharge the naturally aspirated RX-7 is to swap in the drivetrain from the turbo model. It is nearly a perfect bolt in, and can be done in a weekend if all the parts are on hand. However, this is not the path Aaron chose. Not only was it too normal and easy, but Aaron simply could not get all the parts together, and had no desire to take the entire drivetrain out of my car. Nor did he really have the space to do so. So the decision was made to turbocharge the existing non-turbo high compression engine. The project, that most said "could not be done", was completed in six months when I started the car on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Since then, the car has seen 10 pounds of boost on a nearly daily basis for the last few years.

The RX7 Revolution is the Midwest’s premiere rotary enthusiast event. Starting April 25th2003 hundreds of rotary powered vehicles will be converging on Indianapolis, IN for a weekend of drag racing, tech sessions from featured sponsors, and fellowship between rotary owners.

Located deep within the heartland of America, Indianapolis, offers the perfect location. Known as the Cross-roads of America and the United States Racing Capital, Indianapolis is adorned with beautiful highways leading directly into and around the city’s center. World renown for convenience, Indianapolis caters to automotive events. The Indianapolis 500, The Brickyard 400, and Formula One are all held in Indy. The setting for this event, Indianapolis Raceway Park, is the premier drag racing track in America and is home to the nation’s largest drag racing event, the NHRA Nationals.

Yeah, there is more information about it on his website. And I'm sure he'll be glad to talk (brag :D) about it during the event.

are those three tech session ideas final? i dont really know of too many rx7s that need a new driveshaft. i think the 6pi system on NA's not functioning properly is probably a more common problem than a driveshaft going out (the ujoints going out, the driveshaft breaking, etc, whatever) anyone agree?

Nearly every Series 4 RX-7 that I have seen in the last couple of years has needed a new driveshaft. Your 91 will probably need a new driveshaft any time now. Yes, the 6-port fix would also make a good demonstration, but there just isn't time to do everything.

Is Aaron going to show us how to mate an NA AT driveshaft between a TII transmission and NA differential, despite the fact that the NA AT driveshaft is 2" too short? :D

At the moment, yes. We are working extremely hard to bring in more speakers to handle more tech sessions. 2nd Gens are the first generation of 7 to even have tech sessions announced.

While I can't announce any more sessions currently (as I am waiting on final confirmations) I am sure everyone will be pleased with the ones we do announce in the near future.

There are so many deals for so many different things with this event it's like having a second job trying to get everything set and ready.

NOW GO REGISTER (I'll see you in April) :D
