You can also check your AF sensor try taking off the air filter, and with the key at the ON position, push the flap with your fingers, if everything is working properly, the further in you push, you should be able yo hear the injectors working, if you don't listen to them working check the wiring or the AF itself

87 cars built in the first half of 87 and before should have a item called a solenoid resistor package and that package is located below the afm/filter and is bolted to the chassis. In other words you need to temp remove the afm/filter assy and look down to see if you have a silver box about six inches long with an electrical plug like the one I showed in the beginning of this thread. IF you have the box and there is a electrical connector on your new harness then plug your new harness to that silver box.

IF the silver box called a solenoid resistor is not there.............then most likely your car never had one and you don't need it and frankly your injectors should be getting power to them.

One simple way to see if the injectors are getting power is to pull the small plug off the ECU and with key ON see with a digital meter if the light green, light gree/black, light green/white and light green white wires have batt voltage on them. IF they do then the wiring to and from the injectors is good and the problem is another thing.

Digital meters can be had from Harbour Freight for ??? five to ten bucks. Real cheap and they will do for what is required on this job.

The chassis number of your car should indicate if you should have the solenoid resistor or not. IF you write back try to tell us the chassis number of your car. Should be on the door sill or on the plate in the engine bay.

I THINK cars with chassis numbers prior to -550168 all get the solenoid resistor package. Those after.........not.
