Freind had a CRX with a japanese 1.8 motor swapped in, he claims it was weak, and never understands how he lived without his DSM...

Its in a 1/4mile not an 1/8th, lol.
I think it was a B16 not D16, i don't even know if honda made a "d" motor.
u think a turbo is any better?? ~10hp to every 1lb of boost... its not natural, if u can have a power adder he can. You add more power than tha 75 shot anyway. Pussy Juice?? no, turbo = NO2 w/out button. even w/out the 75shot he should do low 13s easy. He also has a header, and Thermo Tech exhaust. he has you by at least 1000lb anyway. HP does not mean anything if you weigh a lot, you have to have more HP to go the same time.

And don't forget that the CRX would be stripped to the bare bones too, absolutely nothing inside except the dash and driver seat! That's the only way it will make 13s to 14s with a GSR motor in NA trim.

I own a 1991 CRX si, and i know plenty of people who have hybrids as they are called. First, a crx doesnt way 1000 lbs...they weigh 1800-2000 lbs depending on model. The si came stock in the US wih the d16a6 engine, 108 hp and 100 foot lbs. Drop in a b16a1 and driven good you got mid to high 14's. The ls engine, or b18a/b, has 140 hp and around 112 or so foot lbs. They will take the b16 powered rex off the line, but the b16 will cross the finish line first. For a really sweet crx, get a jdm b18c1 or a b18cr. The gsr and type r motors wich in a crx would be enough to get you in mid 13's driven good.

Ive seen a stock weigh in at 1100. its a B18C5 in the type R or a B18CR. and if you want to argue then look up a ARD Performance ad or goto their webpage. They deal the engines I think they know what their talking about.

Um... no. They don't have to be gutted to go that fast, just have to have the motor.

the only fast hybrid crx's i've seen were stripped to the bone

Two decently quick Honda's around here; a built-up T66 B18C5 powered '92 DX hatch, and a T3/T4 B18C5 '91 CRX. Surprisingly, built by the same 17yr old kid. One of his buddies bought the 'rex and Turbo'd it, and he built the hatch to compete. With all that's in the hatch, he should smack 12's, verrrry low. The only downfall is he's never driven a FWD turbo setup so he's getting ready to get a tough lesson in torque steer. They pick on my '87 TII a/b 1/4 mile times and how much they can kill me, but they shut up when talk goes to 0-140mph. HeHe.

puh... crx's suck

I have a video of a 1st gen 1990 Protege kicking ass on a CRX. I also have a video of the same Protege going 240+ but the odometer didn't go any further so they couldn't measure the speed past 240. A 1990 Protege mind you. Enough said.
