Rx-7 Still wont start =(..

Ive posted this awhile back, but i thought it was just the battery terminals afterwards, but still no luck, The problem is when i get in the car to start it, the engine wont turn over, i can hear a clicking sound (which sounds like it comeing from the dash) when i turn the key but thats it, I called the person i bought the car from, and he came down and messed with the main fuse(which was rigged) and it turned over for him, so i was like alright its just that fuse, so i replaced it, but the car still isnt turning over, ive checked all the other fuses (under the hood and in the car) and none was blown or nothing, the battery is good, so i have no idea what could be wronge with her,

any suggestions would be greatly apperciated b/c i would like to get my baby on the road,

thanks,
Klynt

When the last owner messed with the fuse, Did the engine turned? If so the FIRST problem is located at that fuse, wheter is the fuse, the fuse contacts, the fuse cable to the contacts, etc.

Put car in neutral and jack the car up in front.
Get under the car with a piece of electrical wire with both ends stripped.
Touch one end to the small, single wire, that goes to the starter solenoid. Should be on a blade connector.
Touch the other end to the large wire on the starter solenoid(only two wires on the solenoid, can't miss).
The starter and the engine should have turned over.
If the solenoid just made a clicking sound(assuming the battery is fully charged or close to it), then the starter solenoid is bad.
Temporary remedy: strike the solenoid with a hammer(leave no marks please). Try starting again.
If the car starts now that you hit it, its still bad, but at least you can get to the store a few times.
You could also have a bad ground on the wire that runs from the battery to the engine. Always a possibility.

Yeah, after he messed with it, he got in it and it turned over, (but at that time the battery was dead, so we had to put it on cables), or i wouldof changed the fuse when he was there, to make sure it still turned), and when i turn the car on, and leave it on, i can hear a hissing/buzzing type noise comeing from the engine, but thats all i get, and if it was the starter wouldnt it make more noise then just a click sound, b/c it dont even sound like the starter/engine is even trying to turn

have you checked your starter? thats that happens when you have a bad starter

BlackShadowRx7 01-21-02 09:43 PM

i checked the starter today, and theres a wire that looks like the battery terminal cable without the terminals on the end, with a o ring on it, i dont know if it goes to the starter thou, anyone have any idea what that wire could be?

I had that exact same problem. I have a full battery but when I turn the key it makes this electrical hissing clicking noise. I got out my voltmeter and checked the charge on the positive cable to my starter solenoid and it said 12 volts when had my friend turn the key and I got nothing on the negative cable and the starter did nothing.= Bad soleniod. If you order it from Mazda it is $130. A full starter+solenoid rebuild is $190. You might as well get the full rebuild.
