running rich

my 88 non turbo is running way to rich, car wil choke u. and will not keep speed in 5th. can i adjust this, if so how.

low compression, leaky injectors, bad sensors....could be any of the three...

I'd check the compression first just to get that out of the way...if that's good, then i'd check the resistance on the thermoswitch on the back of the t-stat housing. if it's bad, replace it. It's the sensor with the green connector below the alternator. I'd probably check the O2 sensor too...

and what should be the resistance on the thermoswitch?

texFCturboII 10-16-07 09:13 PM

It's the thermoSENSOR, not the thermoswitch. The thermoSWITCH is a grey one pin sensor next to the thermoSENSOR. But I say check the o2 sensor first, how long has it been since you checked it?

rotorpower27 10-17-07 02:37 AM

the o2 sensor is new denso oem replacemant.
soo, what should be the resistance of the ThermoSensor??
