Running rich!!!

Hey there.....

Maybe u guys can help me out....the problem Im having is that my T2 is running very rich.....reason being (which I just now found) my O2 sensor is not connected....heres the problem......whoever had the car before me for whatever reason cut off the connector side that goes to the ecu.....the only thing there is the sensor with the connector just hanging.....(now that i cut the tie wrap that was holding and hiding it).....my lean/rich is connected to it....but my ecu is not getting the signal....so does anyone know or have any ideas as to solve this problem......I don't have a manual for this so if some one does could u tell me the excat wire that goes to the ecu or something........with gas prices going up i don't want to be wasting money on gas every 2-3 days.....plus not to mention the performance that im losing......Please help......

Your *rich/lean*..is going to what???????? The 02 destination is pin 2D on the ECU. Middle plug. When hooked up and looking towards the ECU plug, you count from the right to the left, alternating from top to bottom. So 2A is the upper far right pin, 2B is the lower far right pin, 2C is................. and on and on and on it goes.......And the original gray, shielded wire, runs under the intake manifold. Its probably broken off around the EGR valve. Forget it. Run a new wire.

You may need to bypass the harness and run the o2 wire to ECU and connect it at 2D(?) because that's a shielded wire and you may not be able to get it to connect properly on the harness.

When you said rich/lean did you mean an A/F gauge or the r/l resistor near the AFM?

Thanks guys.......yeah it looks like I will have to run a new wire...yeah I meant an air/fuel ratio gauge..its connected properly and working but the signal is not reaching the ecu so my fuel pump is basically always on.....but thanks for the info will get rite on it...
