If I were you I'd go with a 1.7 and 720 cc secondaries.. Probably not what you wanna hear as you just went 1.5 but the extra fuel is nice. You have an aftermarket boost gauge right? You can get a manual boost controller for fairly cheap to turn up the boost, but i'd also do a wideband to make sure you don't lean out.

oregon rx7 03-22-12 11:38 PM

Have a boost gauge installed. any brand I should look at for boost
Controllers?

brian_skotch 03-22-12 11:42 PM

I have a turbosmart and it works great. Pretty simple devices and easy to hook up. I would stay away from the universal ebay ones however as some people have a problem hooking those up and one turn of the knob increases the boost almost 5psi! Hallman are great but a little pricey.

home depot makes an awesome MBC ;) same thing alot of the ebay ones are lol

oregon rx7 03-23-12 01:18 PM

Ok think I'm going to stick with a brand one what about
Turboxs r those good? And also would a after market bov
Help or are they just for sound?

Just got my Hallman and it's great! There up for $85.00 on ebay shipped for the best one if you're interested.

I have an HKS manual boost controller new, never used.

PM me.

barkz 03-23-12 06:02 PM

your stock bov will be fine. and if youre gonna get an MBC/EBC do it right the first time, go with a Hallman!

hks makes a mbc? I thought they only offered the electronic boost controller?

Wms10th 03-23-12 10:21 PM

It says HKS on it and is a high quality unit. Of course I'm using the electronic one,EVC-S, which is why it was never used.

brian_skotch 03-23-12 10:37 PM

cool! you should post some pics just so I could see one! sounds tight!

Yeah, but that's not what we're talking about buddy. Maybe you can look up some pics of the MANUAL boost controller and not the electronic one

barkz 03-26-12 09:47 AM

^ or you could use google yourself and find it, but im sure because you couldnt do it before you wouldnt be able to do it now. buddy

brian_skotch 03-26-12 12:43 PM

I am fully capable of using google, however you tried to be a smartass and replied with the WRONG link. That's why I told you that you should look again. You made yourself look stupid.

Oh and google doesn't come up with any pics of an HKS MANUAL boost controller, hence why I asked for a picture. Maybe it's a really rare piece? I'm not trying to put you on blast or anything but you got into this conversation implying that I should use google search, posted a link to the wrong device, and even told me to search when there are no pics. Bravo man...

brian_skotch 03-26-12 01:13 PM

Okay okay so maybe your google skills are better than mine! lol I typed in "manual boost controller" instead of "mbc"

Good find though! thanks

barkz 03-26-12 05:03 PM
