Rotor and Counter Balance Weights
 

Looking for a weight symbol on the counter balance. I know where it is on the rotor, it's plainly marked with a 'C', but can't find a corresponding designator on the counter weight. I've looked online for some sort of chart that states how much the counter weight should weigh when using a certain weight rotor, but no joy.

there isn't one.

The counter weights are the same (besides AT ones being bolt on and MT ones being machined).

As long as the rotor weights are within one letter of each other, you are golden.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but, aren't all brand new rotors C weight these days?

all of the rotors sold new in the US are a C weight, they always have been.

i recently found some new information on this, as there is nothing in the shop manuals about rotor weight, until you go back to the early 70's.

the new info was the JDM parts catalogs. the S4 JDM parts catalogs have the same part number as the US for rotors, but then they have two more part numbers, one for the D weight rotor, and one for the B weight rotor.

the JDM S5 catalog, just shows the one part number, same as the US, for a C weight. as does the FD and Rx8.
