rotor????????????
just wondering where the apex seals and the corner seals are on the rotor. if you have any pics to illistrate that would be great thanks

the rotor looks like this /_\
the apex seals and corner seals go on the 3 tips. I'm too lazy to go find a picture. You can find one on your own. |
how long are the apex seals the the corner seals. i know that they are 3mm or 2mm but how long are they

really thats all the bigger they are, also how do they stay on to the rotor.
i'm going to soon be rebiulding my 13b. just wondering how long it takes? how hard it is to do? and if you need any speicl tools to do the rebuild? i have swaped and few engines and am a desect mechanic. |

I would suggest you do a fair bit of reading up on the internal workings of a rotary before you go tearing yours down and rebuilding it. You'll need some very fine measuring devices and a 54mm socket.. thats all i can think of off the top of my head special tool wise. |
No offence by this but if you gotta ask where the apex seals and side seals are on the rotor then I doubt you should be attempting a rebuild of a rotary engine.

dude if i did not know it not going to me in my head automaticly, i understand how the rotary works vary well, i just have never taken one apart before

i now know where they are and how they fit, but now just wondering is their a spring behind the apex seal that pushes it forward for more compression.

thats what i thought

thats what i thought,
so how much would it cost to rebuild my engine on my own? |

Originally posted by Josepi Just keep in mind that the seal doesn't move to create more compression, it moves to create a seal for compression period. Provided that all of the housings and rotors are in perfect shape, as little as 6-800. |
