rotary rocket magazine - where to find?

Was talking to Mariah Motorsports today and they mentioned the rotary rocket magazine.

Anyone know where to get back issues? I'm working on my hyperrev collection right now.

Thanks

As a suprise, my dad was going to get me this magazine..but it no longer exists...he contacted many dealerships and misc. stores, and everybody says the same thing...NOT AVAILABLE. Sorry man. My dad used to have some back in like 1983 and such..but I think he sold them. Good luck though...I'm sure an EBAY junkie has some somewhere!

I believe they were printed up until 1988 or so.&nbsp They haven't been made for quite some time.&nbsp A lot of the information is just specs, and the tech stuff is sorely outdated.&nbsp Yes, eBay is a good place to start searching for them...

Thanks RETed,

How bout my other post - the expensive promo stuff like the wall clocks, rotor clocks, jackets, etc..??

I think I have some from 88-89. Is there a particular one that you are looking for?

Eventually, I want to get all this info (hyperrev and rotary rocket) onto a website.

Specifically - rare accesories, specialty parts, a COMPLETE breakdown of part #s and descriptions (pics if I can get them approved), performance accessories, dealers, etc...

Never seen rotory rocket's mag, so I'm not sure what's in it.

If you have the mag, see if you can get some high res scans (1024x768 - 3-5 MegaBytes) or mail them to me and I'll scan them in.

Thanks

I have a hard enough time trying to find stuff myself! :(

Are you talking RX-7 stuff or FC3S?

FC stuff is almost impossible to find...

Most of the fc3s stuff from Japan is still available for import. Aerodyne Industries is the current company in the US doing this.

Mariah MotorSport's stuff is still available and I believe some of the Austrailian (sp??) kits and accessories are available.

The propane conversion kit is also still available.

OK, I'll see what I can do. Most of the servers that I use have shut down because of the Code Red virus scare, so it may be a while before I can put anything on the web because the best connection I can get right now is 16.8Kbps, if I can even get on at all. :(

Like Ted said, most of the Rotary Rocket stuff is outdated, but it was an interesting magazine and good aftermarket parts reference at the time of publication.

If you are seriously considering making an RX-7 aftermarket parts database, I'm sure that the manufacturers would be more than happy to supply you with data, pics, and links. In fact, once you get it going, you would probably be able to charge them for advertising to pay for your site (this is how cupon books and magazines fund their operations - and even make a hefty profit!).

Let me tell you what I have. Supposedly, these four pictures I have were available for purchase in Mazda dealerships in the early 80's. They mostly ended up in the waiting areas of the dealerships or in somebody's office. These are watercolor pictures of the early RX-7's running in GTU. There's one Racing Beat car at Riverside, another of Bob Bergstrom in his No. 79 car, and then there is the Walt Bohren at Road Atlanta. The last picture is at home and I can't remember what it is. They were painted by Abrams in 1980. I say they aren't for sale but if the price is right.................

Evil Aviator,

Sweet - you can just send them to me if you'd like - vaughnc@earthlink.net

I'll host them on photopoint.com for now.

FPrep2ndGenRX7,

Scan them and send them to me. I also just got the rx-7 postcard from ebay. Love to collect the industry promo stuff.

FPrep2ndGenRX7 08-11-01 12:07 AM

I'm going to take some high res pictures of them incase I actually do sell them. The files will probably be to large to email. I noticed your from GA. I live in Alabama. Maybe next time I'm headed that way or your headed this way we could met somewhere.

vaughnc 08-11-01 04:58 PM

Actually you can send up to 5MB attachments to my email account. If you zip the pictures - even larger.
