Rocker panel rust...what can i do?

The rocker panels on my parts car (thats about to become a TII) are rusting near the bottom...I know dick about body work and all the pictures in the bodywork threads in the archive are expired...any input?

Get a rust free chassis to base the build off of. Since the project is at a starting point that's the best thing to do, as even if the rust is "fixed" it'll likely come back in a few years and the chassis will be weaker (will flex more and be less crash worthy). Rust isn't usually contained in one area only, there's likely to be some rust starting all over the place, you just can't see it yet, or haven't noticed it.

I would do exactly what black91 mentioned... You can repair the rusted out areas, and if you do it correctly you won't have to worry about it coming back... But it is extremely time consuming, and if you don't know what you are doing then there really is no point in even trying to repair it... Find a new chassis, or if you really need to keep the one you have now pay some good money to have a professional do it...

I have restored numerous CRX's and Preludes from the ground up with rust issues and it takes hours just to take care of the smallest of holes/areas... And if you have rust on the rocker panels then you more than likely have rust somewhere on the floorboards ready to bust through...
