Rock In Lock Cylinder: How To Remove and Clean?

Which led me to further pushing it in when I went to unlock my car this afternoon. Is there any way to pull the key cylinder out so I can somehow remove the rock?

I think you have to remove the outside door handle to remove the key lock.

It's a bolt or two on the inside of the door panel and the handle comes right out. It's attached to the little arms which operate the door and lock, but they should pop out easily as well. I think they are 10mm bolts. After the door panel is off, getting the handle out shouldn't be too much work, and the cylinder should be able to come off as well.

YOu can remove the lock cylinder easily. Remove the door handle (lots of instructions posted up here before) and you'll see that the lock cylinder is held in by a click/spring type contraption. If you get that off (slight prying) the lock cylinder basically slides out.

I had part of a key or something stuck in one of mine (no clue how it got there, someone might of tried to break in). I took it out and lubricated the lock with graphite lubricant. Then I took the lock, placed it entry side down, and banged the hell out of it on my table. It eventually popped out. It helped that my cover wasn't there for some reason (probably related to the break in attempt).

There's some space in there to stick in something like a paper clip which could help, but there's not really an access hole that makes it easy. That's on an S4 which I would assume is the same.

Am I the only one that is wondering how a rock managed to get in the hole? Anyway I think I need to do this to as my key will not go all the way in on my passenger door.
