Rims that fit on the Stock 4 lug Pattern
 

Ok guys i have heard the lug offset and that stuff for our wheels is how you pick and choose what rims you get but i really am too damn lazy to search for exactly what offset and size or whatnot to find a set of rims that are cool.

Would sombody please just post a whole bunch of links to a website that sells wheels just for the offset or whatever for the 87 n/a 4 lug wheels? I'd like to get rid of the dialer rims and go a step torward cool. same tire size is fine too. i'm not gonna be huge into dragging or anything like that either.


or if i could get a set of generic rims that i could just put hubcaps on too that'd be cool-haha i'm tired and stupid ignore that last comment

well the stock "phone dial" rims measure 14x5.5" with a 4x144mm bolt pattern and a 40mm offset. I would check out Discount Tire Direct and use there system to find rims that fit your 4 bolt pattern, when you go through inputing the year, make, and model make sure you select the one that says RX-7 SE/GSL-SE and that will sort out all the wheels that won't fit your car and you can get an idea of what will fit. the website is:

I think you typed that wrong. It's NOT 144 mm... it's like 114.3 mm.

Most "modern" japanese cars have the same bolt pattern, but the offset is different. Be sure to get 35-40mm offset and you are fine. You might want to go to 16 inch wheels, since "decent" tires (except the Yokohama AVS dB) aren't available in 15" and smaller sizes usually.

The 114.3 mm bolt pattern is for the 5-lug. I have no idea what the 4-lug is, but 144 mm sounds about right. If you only have 4 lugs then logicaly they would have to be spaced out a little further.

I totally argree with Rx7 ragtop... I own an N/A with the 4-Lug wheels.. and have been looking into buying some rims for quite some time, and it is a 114.3 pattern im possitive...

It is 4x114.3mm or 4x4.5".&nbsp Most of the "Honda" rims run "dual bolt patterns, and you should see "4x100/4x114" listed - the cars run similar offsets to a FWD - this is a good place to start looking.

Other cars that run these bolt patterns are some old Honda Accords/Preludes, Mitsubishi Galant VR4, and AE86...

Hah, well most midsize Japanese cars have the 114.3 bolt spacing. My Nissan has 114.3 spacing, 4 lug. I have some 18's for it, but I use old SAAB rims for AutoX. Some mid 80's Saab's had 114 spacing. They aren't flashy, but they look better than the n/a's dial rims, IMO. For $15 a rim at the pick-a-part, it's not bad at all. They're the rims that the cars have in that Saab video that's been going around. They're 15 inch so you can get some decent tires for them. The offset could be different though. :)

Ted that's a good point. I've seen some decent looking stock Honda rims... I'm thinking the Prelude ones, but the late ones might be 5-lug? I dunno much about Hondas.

Anyhow... You can get decent looking rims in that bolt pattern almost anywhere. If you wanna spend about $500, look at the thread here about wheels- a set of 4, at 13.5# each, for $500 from one of the places on the web. Pretty sure they said free shipping, but not positive.
