right side wheel locking up

i was driving today and all of a sudden i hear a sound as if something fell off the bottom of my car. it almost seemed like i was dragging something. i pull to the side and it didnt look like anything was wrong with the car. i looked under and everything looked intact. i try driving it and it seems like something is holding it back. i forced drove it to a parking lot. my friend came to help me tow the car. and once i pressed the break thats when i heard the sound again. it locked up my right side front wheel while my friend was towing me. then i started my car and drove it forward so i could unlock it. and i used the e-brake the whole way to my place.

what could be wrong with my car? what do i have to do to fix it? and how much could it possibly cost. please help..

You may want to try taking the wheel off and inspecting your brakes. I don't recognize the popping noise, but it sounds as if your brake system is faulty.

^^^bingo. when you get the car up in the air, try rotating each wheel, one at a time. you'll find the culprit pretty quick. next, remove the caliper (which is most likely sticking) inspect the rotor once you remove it as well and inspect the wheel bearing and make sure its ok. if the caliper was that locked, you may have damaged the rotor. look for signs of blueing and replace both fron calipers and pads. replace the rotor if necessary. i personally believe that its always best to replace calipers in pairs. make sure when you are bleeding the system that you flush it thoroughly with clean fluid.
