Right rear tire

Ok guys, what does it mean when your right rear tire wears on the outside of the tire. Its the only tire that does it!! any suggest on what it might be would be nice. oh all the other tires wear evenly if that helps.

thanx

positive camber? or maybe its rubbing on something (humming?)

edit: i wonder how many people on this forum have that avatar, ive seen so many

jgrts20 09-03-05 07:36 PM

nah the humming is from um i forget, the camber thing i dont really know much about that stuff.

if it is even wear (not scalloped/cupped) then you probably have a damaged suspension part there.

If it is scalloped/cupped, then you have a blown shock

thanx ice, its even wear up to the last tread on the inside of the tire. So woukd the humming from that wheel be suspension linked?

Icemark 09-03-05 11:26 PM

yeah, it could be... but I'd bet the humming is more related to the worn tire

Sideways7 09-03-05 11:30 PM

Look at the tire - does the top slant outward at all? If so you ahve positive camber, which most likely means a broken suspention parts.

CHeck your air pressure. Wear on the outside and inside of the tire would most likely be cause by low pressure.

jgrts20 09-04-05 08:44 AM

I have nitrogen in my tires so the air pressure doesnt change!! Its probly suspension problem I will have to check the suspension. Its about time I change the shocks and stuff, still looks like the OEM stuff is on the car!! thanx again guys I will let ya'll know whats up!!
