Revlimiter

Have a 1989 rx7 s5. Pretty much stockish. Stock ecu. I have a tendency at night if someone tailgates me to rev my engine and blow fire to get them to back off. I know the cars have revlimiters at 8K is it ignition cut or fuel cut? I know there isn't a point in revving past 8 because the powerband falls off before then. What is the engine balanced to? What's a safe rpm to rev to? And is the Revlimiter bad for the engine? Just curious not trying to be that ricer that goes around revving his engine but if someone tailgates me at night their headlights blind me and i don't brake check because I could get rear ended. My main question is does the rev limiter hurt the engine ?

Im pretty sure most cars have a fuel cut limiter, which as im sure you know is not good for the car. But im not sure about FCs in particular, id guess its a fuel cut though

Is it turbo or n/a? N/a's have no type of rpm cutoffs, and i don't believe the TII do either

Oh yeah NAs just rev until they run out of power dont they?

TII do the same, only cut off they have is fuel if the ecu notices the boost gets to high

I'm pretty sure the rev limiter kicks in at 8500rpm on the s5 n/a. I thought it was fuel cut but not sure. I personally wouldn't hit it on purpose.

Non turbo. Yes it's limited to 8250 I found I website. Also fuel cut which is bad because that leans the engine out and could cause detonation. I really want a two step

This explains why my rpm never seem to stop when im red lining
