Results: Turbo vert conversion aligned and corner weighted
Just got the car back a bit ago so I thought I'd post the results. Car can be seen with listed mods in my garage section. The interesting part of the alignment results is the car still maintains a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution which many did not think possible after the conversion. It was weighed with 1/2 a tank of gas so it could be a perfect 50/50 actually. It is a fat heavy bitch though...
Some basics: Battery relocated behind passenger seat under spare tire cover along with 2 amps and 1 subwoofer, spare tire removed, power steering removed, still have a/c, large fmic (front bumper support removed), Kirk Racing rollbar, full TII drivetrain. Car was aligned and weighted with the targa top removed and top down as required by any road race sanctioning body. 1/2 tank of gas. I weigh 165 lbs. Final specs as requested by me... Front camber: -3.0' Rear camber: -2.0' Total front toe: 0.06" = 10 min. toe in Total rear toe: 0.06" = 10 min. toe in Cornerweights....with me included of course: LF (858 lbs)_____RF (799 lbs)-------->49.45% LR (877 lbs)_____RR (817 lbs)-------->50.55% Crosswieghts are exactly 50/50 LS total: 1735 lbs (51.8%)_____RS total: 1616 lbs (48.2%) Total weight with me: 3351 lbs. Total weight without me : 3186 I do have 382 rwhp @ 16 psi to move the fat pig around. Should be fun at Sears Point on Sunday. Still need to button a few things up first though. |
i guess thats what my car going to weight...
my car have similar mod and.... i want to have it out of the shop ...... lazy mechanic ... |
Your car has some decent numbers, do you run 16psi all the time or not? But i bet she moves along pretty well though. i wish you luck this weekend. spank some pistons lovers for me.

I drive it around normally @ 14 lbs.
Track days I'll turn it up to 16 and put in a few gallons of 100 for safe keeping. We only get 91 out here in CA. |
Is the car street legal?

yea i dont think u can pass smog with that

Very nice job. You got any pictures? I love seeing turbo verts, there just plain sexy!

Wow, very impressive. I definitely need to get an alignment on my turbo vert, it seems to have positive camber as its wearing the outside edge of the tires. Not great for handling. You have an impressive setup, definitely post some pics if possible.

The car recently passed smog...when it was na. Soon after I registered the car at a friends house in another county in CA where they only require smog at change of ownership. I never have to smog it again really.
Pics and my mods list can be seen in my garage area here : https://www.rx7club.com/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=2592 |

I thought I had the same problem on my rears since the treadwear was worse on the outerblocks- but it turns out I was running -2.5 deg rear camber! I lowered it down to -1 deg camber (limited by my lowering) trying to get some straightline traction since that is wearing my tires WAY faster than the uneven wear. Didn't help straightline traction noticeably :( I guess I am saying- sure get it aligned, but the problem may be you just drive like a freak. |

*Sorry to hijack. |
Changing your alignment at this point is going to change you corner weights.
