Replacing the OMP. Take my chances keeping same ECU?

I'm in the middle replacing the OMP should I take my chances keeping the same ECU? If I do will it limp mode again. Or worse?

depends on whether or not the bad omp ended up shorting out the ecu. crack open the ecu case and look for any burnt areas and components on the boards
