Replacement for hood insulation?
Hi All
I'm having my TII hood painted and was wondering if there is a suitable replacement for the under hood pad? or do I even need it? Thanks! |
I believe you really don't need it. However it does help keep engine noise down and protect the hood from engine heat. Dynamat makes a product for replacing the hoodliner but it is a bit pricey. I would check Jegs or Summitracing and see if what they have to offer.

What I find odd is that the Mazda parts microfiche has no listing for this hood insulator pad for either the FC S4 or S5. However, there is a listing for this same pad for the 93-95 FD.

when I painted my friends corvette rather then deal with a replacement pad I just sprayed it with some semi-flat black paint
took one or two passes, very easy not as nice as a whole new pad but it was quick and easy |
