Removing rear brake rotor
 

Anyone want to give me some points on how the hell the rear brake rotor comes off? Ive got the halfshalft out so its not holding it in. I cant get the 2 scew's off. ive used ghetto-tool screwdriverbit in my impact gun and it didnt budge. Ive beat the shit out of it with a hammer etc.

So what am i doing wrong?

won't come off until those screws are out. If they won't come off, you have to drill them out.

1. Tilt the caliper up and take out the brake pads.
2. Remove the caliper mounting brace by taking out the bolts (2).
3. When they're off, I'd get like a bucket or somethign to put the caliper on so you don't dangle the heavy caliper by the brake line.
4. Then just take a really big hammer, trying hitting it from behind, but if it's rusted tight, use the hitting end of the hammer, put it under the rotor, and just keep pulling as hard as you can. (Don't worry about hurting the rotor, I imagine you're replacing it)
5. Be sure to sand off the old rust too, and make all the surfaces smooth. Have fun!

Buy lots of beer and asprin. Its not that hard.

Drill the screw heads off. After rotor removed, you can take the threads out with vise grips...They really aren't needed. Place lug nuts on the studs, to protect the threads, and hit on the center flat spots all around the studs. That will break up the rust that is under the rotor.

Alright, so its just plain STUCK. i am replacing the rotors with 5lug stuff so i dont care what happens to this. Only reason im removing the rotor is because my impact gun sockets are to thick and i cant reach one of the bolts holding the rear assembly together

nope, get 1 of the screws out, and there should be 2 or 3 holes depending whether you have vented or not, find the hole that isnt beveled and has threads (not where u took the screw out) tighten the screw into there, and itll pop the rotor right off
