Removing rats nest and more, hint, tips, and watch outs welcome

Well topic says it all. im about to remove my emissions, a/c and p/s. Anything help full would be great. I already have the how to on the rats nest, for the a/c its juts dissconnect and remove right? an for the p/s im just going to loop the hoses.

uhh....i'm assuming you know this but you should have the AC depressurized and evacuated at a dealer or shop, besides that the removal of the AC and PS is pretty straight forward.

as far as the "rats nest" is concerned i really hope you know what's up.

From what? The 83 in your profile? If so, you're in the wring section. If not, unless you tell us what year and model you're working on you won't get much useful info.

BTW, if you searched you'll find literally dozens of threads on emissions, A/C and P/S removal.

and if your gonna do it, might as well do it right.... replace the ps rack w/ a non-p/s rack...they arent hard to find, and very easy to swap.... and if your gonna pull the ac lines out, might as well pull it all out... even whats under the dash.... thats what i did..quite a bit of dead weight.... but only do this if you dont plan on EVER wanting to use the ac again

Yeah I dropped the A/C too, took like 10 minutes under the dash and 20 under the hood. The A/C under the dash has a few bolts and slides out, most of the plumbing under the hood is straight forward.

Sorry its for an 86 n/a, yes i know about the a/c pressure and you dont have to take it to the dealership. I have have the time or money to swap the p/s rack for non. looping does the same thing just not as good. I have removed the nest on my old 83 w/o any probs.

I did search and read some i just wanted to maybe here from ppl who just done it and didnt see a prob they ran into posted.

well, just for the info, i did not run into any problems removing the ac and ps along with the mounting rack, if thats what you want to call it, however i simply can't really touch the rats nest...i live in cali. but as for the ac notice i said should take it to the dealer ;)
