Removing Exhaust Diffusers...
 

I'm looking to remove a exhaust diffuser from my good NA housing and swapping in a TII diffuser. But I'm having some troubles removing the pins that hold the diffusers in. What is the best way to remove the diffusers?

I use a self tapping or self threading sheet metal screw. Don't over tighten it or it will just expand the the pin and make removale harder. Just screw it in till it just begines to get tight, then use pliers to pull them out. Another method I have seen on the forums is to MIG a blob of weld onto the pin, then use pliers to pull it out. Not to HiJack (I already helped somewhat :) ), but I could use some extra TII diffuses as well, anyone got a spare set or trashed housings?

Check the archive. There is a good method posted there. Or, just grind the diffusers out.

i thought the tII never came with diffusers:confused:

ok, bad terminology.... Exhaust Port Sleeves is what were talking about. And yes, the N/A had difusers in their exhaust port sleeves.

just grind em out, took me like half an hour for both housings.

what did you use to grind them out. i've been trying to use my Dremel and it's barely cutting through - definitely more than a half hour.
