Removing EGR on S4 N/A

When I get my rebuild and streetport done, I am probably going to use a center housing from a S5 T2. Now, S5 cars have no EGR Valve. I have a cat and run all of my emissions equipment. Will not having the EGR cause any problems for the car itself? And if not, will it cause any emissions issues? I need my car to pass the emissions test. Thanks

Not having an EGR should cause minimal loss to emissions issues. So the S5 housing fits the S4? Or was that with the other housing pieces?

Won't cause any problems removing it. S5s don't have it because the rotary has a "natural EGR", so an add-on valve is not necessary.

Cool, i didnt know if not having the EGR would affect any of the silinoids or other emissions equipment, Keeping my car emissions legal is my primary concern. Thanks :)

The streetport will probably cause you to fail emissions pretty badly. Keep that in mind. :)

is there n e one out there that can show me a pic of the egr taken off of a s4.... i would love to see a pic of what hoses and lines etc. to remove to have all emissions off..... so far i have air pump off and one cat gutted (only have one cat)... does taking off all emissions help run better?.. soon i will be opening up the exhaust to 2.5 inches...

Really?!? I was told my multiple people that a streetported N/A could pass fine as long as all emissions stuff was still intact. I passed with flying colors this year (stockport). But was under the impression that a streetport wouldnt affect the emission all that much. Heck, Ive heard of BP'd engines passing the sniff test..

It really depends on the test. Around here it would pass. In California it wouldn't. However, with some effort you could probably make it pass.

OK, yea here in PA I dont think the test are all too rough. I dont think I should have that much of a problem..

FWIW, I have a brand new EGR Valve for a s4 na for sell:)

In order to pass in oregon I had to put all the emissions equipment back on. It took longer to find the parts than put back on. passed easily with a racing beat racing exhaust and a millen high flow cat on instead of the RB presilencer.

You do NOT need an EGR at all! I removed the EGR on my S4 and I had to take an emissions test.

Emissions results:

HC: 0.52 out of 1.60 max
CO: 4.86 out of 15.00 max
NOX: 0.80 out of 2.50 max

.. so there!

My car passed emissions in VA\MD\PR with a RB header, stock cat, HKS cat back, ported engine no 5&6 ports sleeves (and then with them on working normally), and HKS air filter.
