Removing bonnet

Ive got a turbo motor in my n/a and need to put on a turbo bonnet, i've had a look where the bolts are but it looks like i have to take off my side gaurds.. is this correct? Is there another/easier way to swap the bonnets over??
Thanks for your help.

sorry Im not too familiar with the brisith terms other than bonnet - boot - earth wire and tyre (whats with the y anyways hehe) what do you mean by side guards?

but to answer your question you can just swap the hood....you don't need anything else.

just take off the two bolts on each side, four total. It comes right off, two minutes max.

yep, two bolts each side. can be done with one person, a bit easier with two.
i took off my steel hood alone. it was a bit cumbersome.

hahaha it took me a minute to figure that out the first time i was wondering why my 'bonnet' was so heavy, and i still forget every time i do it. but i mean, it takes .4 seconds to yank that sum'bitch off so its no big deal.
