Oh god..the Easiset way to remove the engine..Would Have been with the Harness INTACT!..the Passenger Side Firewall Harness(known as the ECU Harness) is Very Easy to get to..Take the Passenger Kick panel Off,Pull the carpet Back and undo,I think Four Connectors, and Push it Through the Firewll INTO the engine Bay..then Voila!..you have the Engine and harness Pulled as ONE..........The way you are Doing it,YEP>>you have to Take the Upper and Middle Intakes, and Throttle Body(easiest way in your Position) off to get at the wires that connect to the Injectors, etc that are located there...so Undo your Fuel Lines(MARK THEM..Line from Filter,to Primary rail..Out from Secondary Rail,to tank return)..there are about six bolts on teh Middle manifold and a Cotter pin on the OMP rod.also the throttle cable,..a couple 10mm nuts on teh drivers side towards the Firewll, and a couple hoses there too..it is hard to explain but it shouldn't take you any more than 20 minutes to Take the WHOLE top assembly off as ONE unit..and Trust me,you wil thank me later as it is hard to Re-gasket every little part ,If you take them off singularly.

If your pulling the engine to rebuild then I leave the harness in the car. The way I look at it , the intakes gotta come off now or later so why add extra work unplugging the harness from the computer.

Its far simpler to just unbolt the the upper and middle intake's as one piece, disconnecting the OMP rod, fuel line to the secondary rail(if NA), injector clips from secondary injectors (again if NA), coolant lines and wiring to BAC, wiring to the TPS, various vacuum lines, the brake booster line, and other small things in that general area. IIRC its a grand total of 4 nuts and a long bolt on the passengers side of the car to unbolt the middle intake from the lower intake, then maybe 4-6 bolts on the drivers side, all bolts being removed requiring a 10mm wrench/socket. Remove upper/middle intake assembly as one unit and you now have nearly unrestricted access to all wiring located between the block and intake.
