Removing the Air Pump?

I was replacing all the belts on my 7 yesterday and a rusted bolt broke off the air pump... I need to replace it obviously, so... can I easily remove the Air Pump? My Haynes manual doesn't seem to cover it.

It was the bolt that allows the air pump to pivot, the one at the bottom... any suggestions for removing the air pump?

Thanks all,

get a dual alt pully, remove the air pump, then have no air pump. If you dont get a dual alt pully, you're water pump and alt will most likley slip.

I don't want to get rid of my air pump, I just want to remove the air pump so I can replace the broken bolt. The bolt broke off IN the air pump and I don't think I can get to it without removing the whole thing.

i will see what size mine is and maybe u can pick one up at autozone. also u can just check them and see what they have. ususally they have something. or get a bolt some washers and just make ur own.

Done.

To leave an answer in this thread, incase anyone should ever search it - to remove the air pump - unscrew the air box (assuming you're running stock like me). There should be three screws holding the airbox in, remove all hoses and the one electrical plug from it and remove it. Next extract the bolt from the top of the air pump as well as the bottom (assuming you CAN extract the bottom) and pry the air pump out.

It may take some force and the bolt on top also has a "U" shaped spacer that you'll want to keep (don't forget it!!). Wah-lah. Air Pump gone.

Thanks everyone,
