removed Front and Rear bumper reinforcments....is this Ok?
Hey guys, just installed my Import Trendz "Vanish" fullbody kit. Had to buy each part separatley though($940 shipped total).. anyways, I removed my front bumper reinforcement to allow for room with front mount intercooler(godspeed 24/12/3'') and then chucked the rear reinforcement because its steel and heavy. Now I'm wondering if these steel bumpers play a role in the suspensions stiffness?? Is it ok that I did this? Any suggestions or comments, Thanks

Both of those parts have very little to do with chassis rigidity. Just don't hit anything.

Well just pray you don't get rear ended or have a head on. Search for the member that removed his support had a front end collision and now some of the other members on here are without a friend, his son is without a dad and his wife is widowed at about 30.

yeah... it's not a smart idea to remove that "bumper reinforcement" because it's not a reinforcement IT'S THE BUMPER!!! The plastic part that covers it is just that, a cover and offers pretty much ZERO protection in the event of an accident. Now, I might not worry a whole lot about the front one because it's just some sort of fiberglass/plastic IIRC but the rear is a must! What's gonna happen to your gas tank if you get rear ended?

wow, now that its put into perspective........scary! Anymore input on this matter?
Thanks, -Dustin P.S. RIP Dave. |
