Removed air pump. Have questions

I have a 88 TII. I just removed the air pump. (No cats either)

There are two lines coming out of the air pump, one goes to the air filter box and the other goes back behind some stuff around the intercooler and in that general area, which while im at it what is that line for and where exactly does it go?

The main question is what do I use to plug the two holes?(right now i have the air filter hole plugged with a plug and a screw clamp around it.) I think one is supposed to be blocked off and the other is supposed to have a breather on it. Another one of my questions is which hose is supposed to have the breather and which hose is supposed to be blocked...if i am wrong point me in the right direction.
thanks for any help

BLock off the ACV

both should be blocked. you will get exhaust out of the one going towards the engine (to ACV).

Thanks for the info. I blocked both off. I am not worried about the air filter hole that is blocked off..i am sure that is fine.

The way I blocked off the other(acv..i assume) is the hose that was going to the back of the air pump..i just left it(it was being a bitch to get off) and i put a plug in it and screw clamped it. I would think that is sufficent enough..what do you guys think?
thanks again

Yeah...remove the ACV..makes it much easier to work on things on that side of the engine. You need to get a blockoff plate or make one. Cap all the metal lines that were leading to the ACV. The big hole in the air cleaner housing can be blocked using a "water pump" plug (I got it at Autozone, fits real tight no need to use a clamp, don't have any idea what it's really used for but it was on the shelf there).
