Remanufactured 13B N/A
 

What is the best place to get a remanufactured 86 13B n/a? I found three places so far.... Atkinsrotary.com, Mazdarx7engines.com, and ATK-engines.com. What do you think of these sites? Are there any better ones?

Most of thise places offer rebuilt engines... not remanufactured.

If you want remanufactured, you will need to go to Mazdatrix or Mazda. No one else generally offers remanufactured.

With rebuilt engines (as all the ones you listed ) parts that are out of spec are refinished or replaced, while the majority of the parts that are in spec are re-used.

with remanufactured engines eveything that can be worn will be replaced. This means new housings, new rotors, new seals, new plates, etc.

remans are awesome I have one that I got for 900 and it is the best I've had so far :)

I thought that mazda remans re-used housings if they were inspec.

Not neccesarily. Mazda has set wear specs for things like irons and rotors. Just because you're buying an engine from them doesn't mean it has all new parts. Why do you think they want your core just like everyone else?

So.. the same thing Landers does, just for 2x the price. :squint:

On the housings and plates, Mazda strips and or laps them, sends them off to be re-coated and then re-nitrated, making them effectively new.

They get all new seals (something that some rebuilders don't do- they often reuse seals).

The few parts that are not new when remanufactured are the E-shaft (if it meets spec) and the bolts.

Quite a difference from the standard rebuilder who looks at the housings and figure they will last another 50 -100 k miles and then just reuses them. The majority of the rebuilders don't even lap the end plates.
