Reinstalling E Brake (parking brake)

Hey i have a 88GXL with rear disc breaks , the previous owner didnt have the cable connected to the discs i tried pulling it back on with a pair of pliers but its way to tight how do i reconnect it?

Pull the calipers off, and put the cables in the slot, reinstall the calipers and you're set.

i took the capiper off and its still super tight is there a trick to it?

They might be seized, and that could have been why the previous owner disconnected them.

There is also a fairly heavy spring on the calipers so that they will return when the ebrake isn't applied.

ya i just found out that its siezed from the rust so im about to try to un-sieze it

okay i fixed the sized e brake part, i cant get the pads back in the caliper and around the rotor, i think the rotor itsself is siezed how can i fix this without having to buy a new one?

i don't think they (calipers) are seized pulling the ebrake cable pushed out the piston you need a vise or clamp to push it back in then put your pads in and reinstall. if they were seized they would have been grinding befor you ever messed with it. the ebrake cables probably froze and were disconnected. worse case scenerio 40-50 for used rear calipers.

ohh okay thanks alot, how far does the caliper go in does it become flush when its pushed in or no?
