redline?

ok, so my dad's friend is a fucking genius mechanic (he can spot and diagnose almost any problem on the spot)

he says that when his friends were into rotaries (back in the day's of rx-2s and rx-3s) that they woud just put different/better rotors in and get them up to 14k rpm

is that true, or was he exagerating, and is it applicable to our cars

he probably meant lighter rotors, race bearings, and other supporting mods. i know they could probably go that high with a big port, but i think most "race" cars stick around 10-11. correct me if im wrong

that would make sense, but i can imagine might have been able to go higher in the smaller rotaries that they made back in the day

f1s rev up to 17k on some cars, most are about 15k. with super ligh rotors, lots of gas and a light flywheel and you could get about 12k i would think, it's not like a pisten where you hit liek 10k and the head is to much at that speed for the arm to hold onto and snap
