red neck in the south with a "new" rx7 & need sum help

i have just recently purchased a 86' RX7 and am looking to restore to original performance, maybe add supercharge, and go full custom on the visuals. but there is one HUGE problem..... i can't find what i need, & IF i found it i know that it would be at an outrageous price. need a little help on building a show car worthy of best in show honors, but still gotta have the giddy-yup, if ya know what i mean.

thnx, sgtscarz

you want to build a show car but you are concerned with the price?

you might want to rethink your strategy.

He wasn't trying to give you a hard time, just informing you much nicer infact then most people on the boards of the problem...

These cars are not that cheap to make 'fast', it really depends on HOW fast you want it to be. How much power as well as another question: Do you need it for daily driving?

Cheap, Fast and Reliable; pick two. As the saying usually goes around the boards... First thing you should do is check out your car closely and make sure everything is in top shape in its stock form. (Fix any oil leaks you may have etc.) There's no point in making a car faster if your losing fluid all over the place. It definately wont be show quality either if it can't hold 4 quarts of oil for 10 hours. ;)

Edit: As far as superchargers go, theres really only that one outragous priced one you found. http://www.camdensuperchargers.com/ It is really not that outragous of a price if you think about how much custom work went into the design. Of course its a hefty price tag none the less... People have done it with cheaper superchargers that can be found in junk yards (stock thunderbirds I beleive had them. M90 they need quite a bit of custom work to set it up properly in the car. The ways that have been done have not shown any non 'hack job' installation in my eyes.

show cars generally have $8000+ paint jobs alone if that gives you any idea.

the FC is not a cheap car...OEM parts alone can be killer at times. custom parts are even more rediculous(unless your lucky and have/work in a shop!)
elfking is right-make sure it runs 100% in STOCK form before you move on.
RX-7 = Really Xpensive 7 :D
but worth it!! :bigthumb:

And yet.... I wouldn't pay 2 cents for most of those cars.
