Red hot Turbo

Hey Guys,
Pretty new to the forum, and I recently bought a 10th AE. She runs, but has a few problems. My question is what would cause a turbo to run red hot at idle?. Today we removed the intercooler, intake box and ducts, and spun the turbo to see how free it spun, spun good. We inspected the vacuum as well, and saw no immediate problems aside from a little rust on some 1/8" tubing, and they were pretty much all connected (none blown off). My thoughts were the intercooler is not cooling, or the engine needs a new water pump. Also I still need to check the cooling lines to the turbo for kinks. I'll attach pics as soon as I can of the car, and of the engine compartment.

This is a common topic, so a search for "red hot turbo" will probably turn up a detailed answer.

But the car is running very rich, which could be due to several things. Again, a search will turn up all the info you should need.

If theres any resistance in the exhaust that can cause it, like cats being clogged.
Also if you have too many bends in your intake, or too small of an intake piping diameter, or even a severley clogged air filter.
Anything that can cause air resistance in the compressor or air resistance in the turbine.

Check your timing as well.
