rebuild lacking power

drove my rebuild today and it just lags. I havent put any miles on it yet and have only had it running for like 30 min. It a tii s4. has anyone else had this problem or did i fuck up on the build?

DONT PUSH IT YET!!!

just stay off of it for atleast the next 2500 miles. oil changes every 250, 500,750,1000,1500,2000 and 2500. you need to build compression first, ESPECIALLY with the T2's. and dont take it over 3K RPM's for atleast 500miles, and try to avoid consistant driving i.e 65MPH steady on the freeway until about 1000 miles.

im not going past 2500 rpm like i said low end

ok good, sorry if i seemed a bit extreme, but ive seen so many people just since may when i joined this forum, tear their rebuilds up by smashing in them as soon as they either leave the shop or fire it up. as far as lag goes, until you build compression you wont feel much power

Give it time. After a while the compression numbers should come up giving you more power.

ok thats what i thought. No worries. i have also heard about a lot of people just killing them to the ground because they are totaly iggnorant

Tournapart 07-21-05 11:06 PM

well yeah, but before you said anything i wasnt sure off that first post. but now i know

It's too early.
Wait till at least 1,000 miles.
Do a proper break-in.
It'll do wonders for the longevity and performance of the motor down the line.
