Rebuild, how can you tell the oil seal springs apart with out paint?

Um, yes, my dumb ass has done it again, i took apart the rotor assembly and put it in a plastic bag (all the oil seals, the apex seals and aprings, side seals, side seal springs corner seal and rubber instert and spring.. all that good stuff) and just blindly slaped in a plastic zip lock. Now that its time to put it all back together, i forgot and cant tell the difference between the outside and inside oil rings and springs. Is there anyway of telling just by looking at them? the paint has been worn off so thats out of the question. Thanks again guys.

Yes, and thats a very smart thing to ask instead of just putting them in willy nilly. I'll attach a jpg of the 87 manual concerning this. You need to determine the front and rear face of the rotor and the direction of rotation when running.

JPG:

Note one end is sort of round and the other is more squared off, like in the pictures.

Just my opinion but; Your F-in NUTS to try to rebuild the first time without a video (atkins worked great for me) It takes alot more steps to do it right compared to the FSM, or Haynes. I have all of the above and the video showed & told me more than I could imagine getting from the book.

Even though I only have a second grade adumacation ... There is alot of stuff that video covers that the books do not.
