Rear Wheel Bearings?
Im really not sure what my problem is, when the car is moving, even just a little if i stick my head out the window and listen it sounds like there are stickers or candy wrappers or something crackling on my tires, its a really weird sound and i am worried that it is my rear wheel bearings going bad.
The weird thing is, is that would both go bad at the same time? i can hear the sound on both sides of the car, which is weird, it doesnt seem to effect the drivability or anything, but if it is something serious i would like to catch it early. Could it be the Diff? its definatly coming from the rear but seems centralized, not very loud, i had my diff fluid changed a few months ago, i know i need new rear pads but when i pull the ebrake up or step on the brakes and listen the sound doesnt change, my speedo cable fell of a few weeks ago and i lost the pin that goes inbetween the cable and the housing on the trans, so if anyone has one i would like to buy it, i dont think any of these things are the problem but you never know also, i havent had working windows in about two months, i just bought some more switches ;) so it is possable that this has been a noise for awhile thanks for any help and let me know if you need to know more |
What kind of car is it? Is it a 'vert???
Take off the "hubcaps" that cover your rims, and then go for a drive. Sound still there? ;) - - - - I fixed mine by putting a little grease around where the outside of the 'hubcap' makes contact with the rim. No more clicking. |
thanks man, thats probibly it, because the only other thing i thought it could have been were wheel bearings, but i know what wheel bearings sound like when they're going out, and it isnt like this. i will try it
