rear wheel bearing
My question is, are there any good tips to get the outter bearing race out of the hub? I got that big C clip out. I wouild normall punch it out from behind, but there isnt enough space to push the outter race. How am I going to pull the rest of the bearing out. There didnt look like much space to pull the rest of the bearing out
So I took off my rear hubs. I got the 5 lug shaft off the main bearing. Im going to I already got the splined shaft out, that part is no problem. |
i did mine on a hydraulic press, or you can take it to a shop to do it. shouldnt cost that much.

I welded tabs on to the sides, then ground them flat on the bottom so I could use a puller.

If you have a welder, run a bead along the inside of the race. When it cools the race will shrink and fall out.
Or, grind a little bit into the aluminum of the hub so you can fit a punch between it and the race. |

I might try Aaron's method, and yani's if it doesnt come out. I saw a real good writeup on the rear wheel bearing, but htey failed to show how they got the rear outter race out |
This is just an update. The outter bearing race came out when I pressed the rest of the bearing out. I thought it might get stuck, but it didnt. THanks guys
