rear subframe bushings question

So I have a question....when I remove my old subframe bushings do I need to remove just the bushing itself or is there a metal thing that goes around the rubber bushing? I only ask this because I just got my subframe back from powder coating and I cannot seem to get my mazdaspeed bushings in...:(

I lubed it up good...but then it just seems like it wont go in

any advice would help:icon_tup:

Yes there is a steel sleeve that the rubber mount is attached to from the factory.

Question: are you using the correct Bushings?
The Rear Diff mount bushings are easy to get confused with the Rear subframe bushings.

no i ordered the rear subframe (solid) from mazdatrix a while back. unless they gave me the wrong part:scratch:

my diff mounts are smaller than the subframe ones

Ill get a closer pic tomorrow when I go back to the shop to give you guys a better idea of what I'm talking about with the bushing complication

Yeah, a lot of the bushings have a metal sleeve. I actually had one my bushings turned in order to fit. Only later did I realize that the metal sleeve of the oem bushing was till in the suspension arm and I felt (and still feel) like a huge fool.
