rear rotor housing scratch

Hello all,

I have my 88 turbo 2 engine apart and I see that the rear rotor housing has a scratch on it. the rear rotor had an apex chip out on it.

The rest of the housing looks ok, no scratches or scrapes, although I know there are precise measurements to see if it has warped, ect.

The scratch is about half an inch long, and about as deep as the thickness of a fingernail, or a little less.

Would any expert out there have a rough idea if this would automatically condemn the housing, or is it not enough to cause a problem ?

any info is appreciated. I cant get a photo, my camera doesnt have the right lens, to zoom in like that..

thanks all

i would just replace, but thats me, if i were to rebuild one from nothing i would get new housings, a little more expsensive but alot safer in the long run

You sir are a bastard for being able to afford two $530 dollar engine parts. But I appreciate your commitment to only doing a purely quality build. I wish I could afford 1,100$ worth of housings :(.

If you chucked a seal chances are that housing is trash. Post pics, if there is a scratch that you can feel or catch with ur fingernail, it's trash.
