Rear iron crack
 

i was replacing my fuel filter today and noticed a chunk missing off the rear iron. no leaks while running ,not sure about driving and no effect on driveablity. My question is how hazardous is this , should i wait for the apex seals to wear out and then replace after rebuild or should this be a priority? its an s5 tII block and s4 tII car with mods.

it's probably the tranny mount bolt right under the oil filter, it's common for asshole quick tune up shops to use an impact gun on the tranny bolts while doing a clutch job and blow up that corner of the iron. it should be fine with just 4 bolts in it still. if it's somewhere else and not leaking oil i'd just be curious where else the iron could have cracked, pics would be greatly helpful without any detailed locations as to where it is.

yea just make sure nothing is penetrating there and you should be ok.
