rear end swap

what s up fello rotor worshipers i was wonder if the rear end on a 86 gxl w/a 4.30 gear would bolt up to a 90 vert? And what is a good price for a lsd rear end with a 4.30

All FCs are interchangeable.. BUT 86 GXL dont have 4.3 gears but only the 89-90 GTUs does.

NA's interchange with NAs, TIIs with TIIs. You can't mix and match between the 2.

first i should have mentioned that i got the rear end from mazda trix and also if i am not mistaken the verts drive shaft flange is bigger on the trany side (t2) and on the diff side the flange is smaller (n/a)

I did this swap to my 90 vert, or I should say I had it done. It cost me about $2500 total but that included a clutch LSD and a few suspension fixes/upgrades at the same time. Even paying to have it done, I think it was worth it, although I'm sure someone will tell me I could have gotten a new CAR for that amount. If you can save on all the labor, you should definitely do it.
JMHO.

i have an 88 gtu i believe and it has an lsd diff. should i get a turbo diff when i swap a tII in it or is there no use to buy one?

C-Murder 11-05-05 01:44 PM

you have to buy a one. When you swap to TII, you need the whole TII drive line. My friend just went through this ordeal. Unless, that is, if you can get ahold of a TII drive shaft and get someone to weld you drive shaft and the TII one together, haha

Thnx mr TRU i dont think ill trust a part thats welded spinin so fast
