rear end dust boot replacement

Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you guys have replaced the dust boots on these? If so, what boot did you use, and how did you do it? The ones I have are cracked and splitting. Joints themselves are still in good shape.

They are available as full replacement. Haven't seem them "refurbished".

I know you can buy them brand new, I was just wondering if anyone had DIY'd the dust boots to save some money.

Ok, here is the answer to the initial question.

The dust boots on these are the same as those on the tie rod ends. Pop off the old ones with a chisel, then use a vice and a socket to press on the new ones. Less than 5 minutes. See picture below

Also, make sure you are using the factory style boots that have the crush ring on the outside of them. If you look on oreillys website, they will list the Energy Suspension ones that dont have the crush ring or fastener of any kind, those aren't what you want. I had a set of the ES ones that came in my bushing kit, but when I tried them, the were just too loose fitting to make me want to use them.
