rear enblem

How to take out the rear rx7 and mazda enblem without braking them. I know they are not use with the double side tape originally. Its like a plug in the back of the enblem that goes on the body. would I break it if i take it out and i would love to paint it to match the body color.

i just used a butter knife (i couldnt find aything else) and slid it under and loosened any adhesive. then i ran the blade up and down the emblem slightly twisting it till it popped off. just be sure to use light even pressure up and down the emblem. to put it back on i just used an emblem adhesive. i put it on the tabs and on each corner of the M and the A on each end.

good luck.

I got mines out by pushing the tabs out from the inside. I removed the rug covering the back and pushed on the tabs.

i tried to do it on my friends car but it didnt seem to work that easily but then again he was just like i just want it off... so if you do it slow i think you should be alright

Honestly, you can't get it off without breaking it at least a LITTLE bit. If you want it to be able to back on and look decent, though, use a razor to cut the "tabs" that hold it in from behind, and then just hold onto it until you want to reinstall.

dude that looks awesome! you did a great job on that KarzArKoo1! i wanted to do that with my emblems (brilliant black) when i get it repainted to match them... now you gotta show us some pics of it on the car!

yeah I'll, it still need to dry a bit before I put it back on. Surprisingly I didn't break anything or crack the emblem so it should go back in like the same way it came out.
