Rear Control Arm ES Bushing install problem
 

After putting these in a press and pressing them flat several times, there still is a space on either side. With both rubber pieces pushed in they will sit flat, when will pressed the inner metal sleeve in, thats when they both stick out. Has anyone run into this?

They normally tend to squeeze back out some.
I made a clamp from 2 pieces of steel bar stock drilled at the ends & connected with threaded rods.
Then I used a dead blow mallet to slip it from the clamp into the sub-frame.

I tried using a clamp, but these are way out, and they are pretty stiff. I wonder if I can fab something up....anyone else with this problem?

First off, let me apologize for bumping such an old thread. But I did search, and found this.

This is the exact same problem I am having. I can get the rubber pieces flush, but when I run the sleeve through, they push out. I've tried a hundred different times, if this issue was ever resolved, please let me know.

Look closely and make sure the orignal nushing's outer metal shell is not still in there. I had assembly issues just as you described and then looked really close and noticed they wernt part of the arm. I used a dremel tool with a carbide bur bit to put a slit down the middle then folded the shell in on itself to remove.
