rear body sheet metal...no seam!!!
 

i got a horrid dent in the drivers side rear fender, but it looks like that paticular sheet of steel is 1 piece connecting over the roof and around to the other side, is ther a hidden seam or can you actually replace that whole sheet piece?

If it is the same as the 1st gens, there should be a brazed joint at the top of the B-piller.

Bang it out as best you can and make friends with some bondo.

your best bet instead of replacing the whole thing would to pop out the dent as BEST as possible and smooth it with bondo.
there is nothing wrong with bondo.. just make sure the dent it poped out back to nearly origional so you dont have to use a large amount.

nah, its huge bondo wont do shit for it i need to just get it either exchanged for a good one or just pulled out professionally.

Good opportunity to get a widebody kit :D . But if it's that huge, I'd say pay to have it done by a pro.

if i remember right, the rear is a single 1 piece frame... so yeah, either spend a long time with the Ding King, or body shop =)

Remember, reguardless of what you do: you NEVER, under ANY circumstance want bondo or any other body putty to be more than 1/4 inch deep! EVER! Prefereably make it 1/8 inch or less. That said, yes, the rear quarters are welded into place, as one piece that connects to the roof. There's a weld seam about 4" down from the roof on the B-pillar.

How would I fix it? Well, I'm glad no-one asked :) bang the hell out of it from the inside. That should get you close to stock lines. After that, if there's anything more than 1/4inch off of factory lines, use fiberglass to fill it up, then bondo for smoothness.
