Really really really odd.
 

So, anyways, cruising around in my buddies 86, and suddenly the idle jumps right up to 1500 rpm, and stays there.

Can't figure it out.

Then after driving around some more, the idle drops right down. too the point the Tach is reading 0, and the car is still running, romp on the gas and not much happens.

Also, sometimes there is a buzzer that is going off when we start the car up. Sometimes and only sometimes, cold hot warm, doesn't matter it's done it all. No lights come on or anything, this has me worried.

Last but not least. Occasionally when the car is warm, and we shut it off for a bit then go to start it again, your foot has to be right to the floor on the Gas pedal and she still takes forever to crank over.

The idle could be caused by the TB sticking open just a little bit. It is cold, and it may just be that the plates aren't closing like they're supposed to. Hit the thing on the side of the TB that has the throttle cable with some penetrating lube, and work it back and forth to see if that helps.

Not sure about the buzzer.

Hot start can sometimes be an issue if the car is flooding. Make sure when starting the car you don't touch the pedal.

Would love to beable to not touch the pedal. But when it is hot, you have to have your foot planted for the car to start. Or else you drain the battery dead. Tried tested and proved by the number of boosts from the Company truck. It's sad... But you may have a point, as wating him drive it the way he drives it. I could for see that being an issue, as he has a fuel cutoff switch, but, sometimes doesn't use it. only uses it when he parks her for the night.

I wonder if it is because she's been flooded. That along with maybe a sticking injector. I could for see that causing lots of issues.

Yes, a sticking injector could be dripping extra fuel into the housing after shut down. That would be extreme flooding, and would require the pedal to the floor to clear it out before start-up next time.

Sounds like something with the trailing coils i think thats where the tach gets its reading from, i'm probably wrong though
