Reading Error Codes on JDM S5

Hello,

My car is running a little rough, so I thought, perhaps a sensor is throwing a code... I find the guide on how to check the error codes, but lo and behold, my car doesn't have a "check engine" light. Nor, does it light up any other light when I ground the test connector (assuming I have the right connector)

My question... Firstly, what light should be flashing when the test connector is grounded, I have heard it is the 'check radiator' light??? Secondly, is it the same single spade connector near the battery?

Just so you know, my car is a Japanese import to Australia.. 11/89 is the manufacture date.

dons flame suit...

I had this conversation with another Aussie a while ago. ;) You have to make an LED test light similar to the S4's but with only one LED instead of two. You plug it into the green 6-pin diagnostic plug and it flashes the same codes described in the US FSM's.

Read this S4 info: http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/article...odes/main.html

Instead of two "DCC" pins in the diagnostic plug there's only one. Wire the LED between the "ABR" pin (positive) and the "DCC" pin (negative). Then just ground the check connector and read the codes as per the S5 info.

Thanks NZConvertable...

I was actually going to PM you this seemingly trivial question, but instead thought there might be someone in the future who might need to know...

Once again, thanks, you are a champ,

Michael
