Reading the ECU pinout diagram. (Question)
Okay... I sometimes over-analyze stupid little things.
My question is, when reading the ECU pinout diagram in the FSM's, it clearly says - "Control unit connector (Control unit side)" ^ Does this mean it is displaying the harness connector as though you've removed it and are looking into the female harness connectors? Or is it basically displaying the male pins on the ECU? It isn't displaying it as the backside of the connector, right?... Because that would be the same as though you're looking straight at the male ECU pins. EXAMPLE: [3I][3G][3E][3C][3A] [3J][3H][3F][3D][3B] <- Is this the ECU staring at me? Someone please just set me straight. I'd look at the wiring diagrams in back and compare the colors of the connector wires to the colors of the wires at my harness and ECU, but I am 40 minutes away from my car. |
you are looking at it as if you took the ecu in both your hands and looking straight at the pins
|
^ Yep. The easiest way to confirm is to check the wire colors listed in the diagrams. If the color matches the pin you think you're looking at, you're good.

Alright. I knew I was making this more complicated than it needed to be. Thanks!

I wish I had seen this before. I just built a new harness for a wire thuck in and pin all 3 connector going to the Ecu backwards. I was pinning as if it the positions were to the female side. sucks!!!!!!!!!! lesson learned!!!:(
