RB Power Pulse Presilencer
Anyone know if the s4 power pulse presilencer works on an s5? The only differences I see is the I.D size is smaller on the s4 and an extra pipe for backpressure. Maybe I can just block it off. It came with a good deal and want to use it on my 90.

You won't use the pipe coming out for backpressure obviously, and you might have/want to close it off, but I don't see why you couldn't use it.
I am, however, a total S5 noob so wait for verification. |
That's what I figured, I just wanted to make sure the 2 were interchangeable without any negative side effects.

Per racing beat just block it off as i have on for my 91na. It will work.
On the '91 the tube that is in the exhaust is there to supply oxygen to the cat converter to aid in emissions. If you are removing the cat on a '91 then you do not need this tube. On the 86-88, the tube in the exhaust is there to operate the 6-port actuators on the engine. Any aftermarket exhaust system that is installed on this application will require a back pressure pickup to to operate the intake. On your car, you can use the 86-88 presilencer, but you do not need the pickup tube since your actuators are operated by air pressure from the air pump. You can use this presilencer, but simply plug the end of the tube. Best regards, Jim Langer Racing Beat, Inc. 714-779-8677 www.racingbeat.com |
Thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear.

I am using an s4 presilencer on my'90 s5.....I cut off the tube and used a threaded pipe plug to block off the hole.
