rather odd wiring.. checked faq

yeah so i bought a $150 fc to tool around in, and big surprise it has wiring problems lol, regardless this one stumped me the rest i have a grasp of.. so whomever mangled this poor fc made it so if my radio is hooked up and i turn on my marker lights pops goes the fuse.. pulled the radio out and unhooked replaced the fuse no problem... so my question is what wire in that group (the wires all taped together in a group dont know what else to call it) would cause this? its dark have no lights available will properly wire it tomorrow but obviously somehtings wrong... thanks in advance

aslo did notice he grounded using the red/black.. and as in the faq big surprise int lights and illum dont work... what do i need to do to fix it? or is it fubar and not worth it? like i said just a $150 dd so im not to worried about the damned lights if its a lot of work

Yeah, he used the illumination wire for the radio's ground...

When the lights are off, that wire reads to ground on a meter, so everyone assumes it's a ground and wires their radios to it...

As soon as you turn the parking lights on- boom goes the fuse...

Unsplice and cap that wire, and run the radio's ground directly to a chassis point. Everything should be good to go after that...
